Nature Writing for Future Generations: Live announcement of the Children’s Prize Winner, preceded by a discussion with this year’s shortlistees and Countryfile’s Charlotte Smith in conversation with featured artists.

The morning session celebrates nature writing for future generations, with a finale announcing the winner of the coveted James Cropper Wainwright Prize Children's Prize.

There will be a panel discussion with the outstanding authors shortlisted for this year’s Children’s Nature Writing Prize, as well as interviews with the James Cropper Wainwright Prize Featured Artists and shortlisted Illustrators, hosted by Countryfile’s Charlotte Smith.

The talks will conclude at 12.30pm, giving you ample time to explore the rest of the festival. There will be book signings with your favourite authors, immersive exhibitions, paper making workshops, food, drink and more.

BBC Countryfile’s Charlotte Smith and Roisin Taylor, co-director for UK Youth for Nature, in conversation with multi-award-winning author, conservationist and climate youth voice Dara McAnulty; award-winning illustrator and author Barry Falls; best-selling author and Winner of the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize Kiran Millwood Hargrave; multi-media artist Tom de Freston; bestselling writer of children’s books M. G. Leonard; icon of modern-day illustration Emily Sutton; popular originator of the craft of flowers-on-tulle embroidery Olga Prinku, this year’s artist; award-winning designer, illustrator and picture-book author, as well as a previous artist for the Prize Dorien Brouwers.
